"Homecoming is one of the few MCU movies i went to go see in theatres simply because I just love Spiderman, and I always have. The big draw to Spiderman for me has always been the personal, small stakes. Hes the friendly *neighborhood* spiderman afterall. This movie mostly delivers on that, and the film only stutters for me when it needs to be connected to the MCU. The Vulture is an amazing villain, and having him being the father of the love interest was a great idea. Zendaya as MJ, and Holland as Spiderman are pretty well cast and do fantastic in their roles. The boat scene rang a little hollow for me, it just felt like a sub par version of the Train scene from Spiderman 2, but other than that, it's a great film."
"I think I intentionally liked this movie because I ended up in the hospital with 3 days to live the day it came out. It was something to look forward to when I ignored drs orders to go and see it with my best mate. Two of the actors are also attractive, but if you ignore both of those factors, this movie is actually pretty bland. Superhero movies just lack these days. "
"4.5/5*s
Tom Holland is the youngest Spider-Man and the sweetest. He so desperately wants to do good. It's all he cares about. He puts it above schoolwork, school clubs, and even the girl he digs. He's very immature and reckless but he's only 15 years old. He's literally a child with grown-up powers. It's the only Spider-Man who is basically still going through puberty. It's hard to find fault with his actions knowing how much he wants to please Tony Stark and be a good person. He is unlike the other two Spideys in that he doesn't have a vindictive bone in his body. I say this in regards to both of the other Spideys being complicit in the death of their Uncle Bens. Which is actually another way this Spidey differs from the others. There is no Origins story. I don't have a problem with that as it gives more time for the meat and potatoes of this first movie. Remember, Spider-Man is actually introduced in Captain America: Civil War.
Michael Keaton was stellar, of course. I loved MJ, which is not short for Mary Jane, although she didn't get much face time in this movie. Happy to say that isn't the case for the next two movies. I adore Spidey's best friend and side-kick, Ned Leeds.
This is a feel-good movie and more innocent than the next two movies, much like the first three Harry Potter books and movies. I love this new Spider-Man and basically everything Marvel. To all the haters of Marvel, your opinion is not desired here. Only fun people who understand that Marvel movies aren't the scourge of the planet need comment. Marvel was never meant to be big thinker pieces so just enjoy them for what they do offer...excellent entertainment!!!. 🙄 😁"
