"Although I liked parts of this movie, as a whole, it really didn't hold up well as a prequel to the Kingsman series. A great portion of this movie is boring, and focuses mainly on two characters. I can't see how this movie was supposed to be the beginning of the cool spy ring that I saw in the earlier movies. Too bad. There are some great actors in this. Apart from a gritty battle scene, and the last half hour of the movie, I really wasn't happy with how this fit into the series. Maybe the next movie will be better. (There is one brief post-credits scene.)"

"A great prequel to the Kingsman series, showing the origin of the organization shown in Kingsman. With a good storyline and action sequences it delves into the story told in the first film!"

"Great background story of how the organization and some of the gadgets used in the other movies came about. More storyline compared to the previous ones, but still some action scenes."

"The King's Man let me down. It just felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be. The only memorable part is the Rasputin character, who doesn't get enough screen time. "

"Passable action movie. Think Fiennes was too old for the part. Worth a watch but just average. "

"So, spoiler alert… didn’t like this movie. The original film was a clever sendup of corporations snaking their tentacles into governments to wage class warfare. This one… does not go anywhere near that. Frankly, I’ve always viewed the First World War as a gigantic waste of life and an exercise in the futility of nationalism. It also spurred on the conditions for a genocide. So the entire movie becoming a grinding exercise in ‘we need to go to war’ is utterly lost on me. Then there’s the absolute ludicrous political notion that Adolf hitler would have ANYTHING to do with Lenin on a personal level, or that a ‘left’ needs a ‘right’ to oppose. An oppressed Scotsman versus landed gentry does not make a villain I can root against, or a protagonist I can root for. Then there’s the VERY uncomfortable homophobic scenes of Rasputin mimicking oral sex on the protagonist, who is simultaneously aroused and disgusted by the whole thing. (They could have offset this with the inclusion of homosexual heroes, but lol of course they don’t). Any movie that tries to set up the awful awful racist misogynist Woodrow Wilson as a potential ally is NOT A GOOD MOVIE. And worst of all… it’s boring. All the flair of the first kingsman movie is gone. The punching-up politics is gone. There is nothing left but an admittedly cool fight scene with Rasputin kicking ass with a balletic fighting style infused with Cossack dancing, immediately post-kind-of-******* scene, and another scene of a fall from a disintegrating airplane. Most of the movie is people just talking to other people in bunkers around repetitive topics with meh camerawork. Ralph fiennes did his best, but was ill-used."

"It's entertaining, sure... But just watching the Rasputin character is worth the watch "

"Much more emotional than I was prepared for! Expertly written, an excellent mix of action and history!"
