Earl Stone, a man in his eighties, is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does so well that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates.

"A grandfather gets swept into being a drug mule and people sympathize with him. Maybe I'm being too critical to this movie (especially since it seems to be based on a true story) but the sympathetic narrative was quite bothersome to me. I'm not sure if it was because he's white or because he's old or both, but seeing how people treated him as if he innocently found himself in this problem rubbed me the wrong way. Plenty of stories are told of people being forced into the drug business, people told do or die, and when their story is told, they are still the villains for choosing to do. So while I'm not against people who are remorseful being shown sympathy, it's hard to not take notice that his character is the only one shown that in a movie with other people in the business, with their own reasons for joining, but that happen to not look like him. Outside of that the movie was "good" so I won't go too low on the rating. 3/5 🛻"
"Earl is an old guy who loves the road and the freedom. His family not so much. His attachment to his family finally breaks when he misses his daughter’s wedding. Based on a true story about a 90 year old drug mule, Clint Eastwood plays a charming and self indulgent reprobate in the portrayal. Well paced and compelling."
"Pete Davidson and John Mulaney sum this up best- superhero old person movie! It’s something you sit back and laugh some at the situations, but I actually found the movie interesting and plenty entertaining. Be prepared for old person of a different generation speak, though. "
