Last Christmas

"This was a touching yet bittersweet ride. I loved that, although it was a love story, this film was more so a story about making the most of your life while you still have it and the redeeming nature of selflessness. I’ve never watched a film where I didn’t immediately like Emilia Clarke’s character, so Kate would be the first. As the film went on, I grew to like her more and more which was definitely the intention. She was great in this film in terms of acting. Henry Golding was likewise very convincing as Tom and they had pretty good chemistry together. I also really enjoyed Emma Thompson’s performance as Kate’s mother. As for the rest of the film, I particularly enjoyed the choice of using George Michael’s various songs to score the film. It not only tied in nicely with the title, but it underscored Kate’s love of the artist that is discussed throughout the movie. As for writing, the plot twist was extremely sad but it made sense and left me satisfied with the film as a whole."

"This was an amazing Christmas movie and I feel I would honestly watch this movie anytime of year. That plot twist had my yelling in my room and I thought it was great how everything connected. By the end I was in tears. The movie was just beautifully done. Also, the character development is crazy. In the beginning I wasn’t a big fan of the main character, but by the end of the movie she had me in tears and I cared for her so much. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this movie this much, but here we are. I loved Tom so much. He truly was an amazing character and much different from most male characters I’m used to seeing. I love this movie so much and will be rewatching it very soon. "
