"First of all: Full Disclosure about the plot. I did not know how to summarize the plot, so I copied part of the summary from Google search. 😂 British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a group of military officials give permission to a combat team to neutralize Hitler's fleet of German U-boats during World War II. Their unconventional techniques against the Nazis actually change the course of the war. Now my review: I can always trust Guy Richie to add a stylized and somewhat humorous edge to all of his films. This film is no exception. Starring Henry Cavill, Carry Elwes, Babs Olusanmokun, Til Schweiger, Eiza Gonzalez, and a host of actors, this movie chronicles the actions of a small combat team used by Winston Churchill during world war II. As usual, I learned more about a part of history that may not get as much attention as others, and in an interesting way. But don't be fooled. This is a war movie in the truest sense. There are scenes of killings, shootings, violence, and a brief scene of torture. All the actors come together to make a great ensemble and I never felt that one outshone the other. If you want to make a list of war films from the past 5 to 10 years, this movie should earn a place on it."
"A fun action flick with colorful characters, many moments that make you chuckle, and a great #WWII story; here, the pressure's on Winston Churchill to turn the tide of war against Nazi Germany, making it a thrilling watch from start to finish. Plus, the film doesn't hold back when it comes to annihilating Nazis... Although a bit more blood & gore might have made it even more satisfying!!🩸The standout feature for me was the super well-produced soundtrack, with its pulse-pounding score that heightened the #action & #suspense in every scene. I'm glad I got to see this on a big screen with Dolby Digital Sound, which absolutely enhanced the experience. 🌟7/10🌟"
"Guy Ritchie successfully makes the transition from British Gangster Comedy to British Warfare Comedy with this movie that is loosely based on true events. Henry Cavill showed a lot of personality in his role and unexpectedly showed off his comedy chops, alongside Alan Ritchson, who's a beast. I thought that they meshed together well. Even though the battle scenes were ridiculously one sided, basically the group calmly strolled through mowing down Nazis, it was highly entertaining. The choice to cast Eiza Gonzàlez, who's Mexican, to play a Jewish woman pretending to be German, is a bit of a stretch. But I guess they needed her as eye candy. There's a little pacing issue in the middle as things slow down a bit, but overall this is a fun ride. 9/10"
