"Grand in scope. Incredible acting and music (including contributions by Elton John). Beautiful animation based on the actual anatomy and physiology of the animals depicted. Draws from a Shakespearean tragedy and makes it interesting and compelling for children. Truly an incredible film. "
"The Lion King (1994) is an animated masterpiece that has left an indelible mark on audiences of all ages. Directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, and featuring a stellar voice cast including Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, and Jeremy Irons, the film's story is a timeless tale of destiny, betrayal, and redemption.
Set against the backdrop of the African savannah, The Lion King follows the journey of Simba, a young lion cub who must overcome tragedy and reclaim his rightful place as king. The film beautifully intertwines stunning animation, memorable characters, and a poignant storyline, all complemented by Hans Zimmer's evocative score and unforgettable songs by Elton John and Tim Rice.
From the iconic opening sequence of Circle of Life to the emotional climax, The Lion King captures the essence of what makes Disney magic. Its themes of family, courage, and growth resonate deeply, making it not just a beloved children's movie, but a profound cinematic experience.
An epic saga of love and adventure, The Lion King remains a cornerstone of animated cinema and continues to inspire generations."
"Loved this as a kid. At that age I didn't notice all the weird inappropriate lessons it taught me. Life sucks, learn to be apathetic and jaded. Grow up and be angry and strong and vengeful. Then take whoever you want as a bride even if she is your family member. Then everyone will love you! Ugh terrible things to teach children, dressed up with talking animals and pretty colors to make it easier to consume. I watched this so many times as a kid and it did impact how I behaved for most of my life by brainwashing myself with it"

"I loved this movie when i was a kid. I had to get a new Vhs i wore out the other one. "
"The first time I saw this it was 2 a.m. and I was watching the 24-hour Disney movie channel in the hospital. I was doped up on Demerol after breaking my pelvis in a car accident. I bawled my eyes out when Mufasa was killed. I was seriously out loud yelling like "Omg! Disney seriously comitted a cartoon murder!! I can't believe this! Nurse!!... Anybody!" Needless to say, the nurse didn't come. She knew I was high and probably didn't care anyway. I've seen it many times since then. It's awesome!!"
"Do you really need me to recommend you one of the Disnry renaissance movies?? It's good, the songs go off, animation is amazing (there's one part where the animators really went wild and were like ooo look at us rotating TWO lions in space, we don't care about carpal tunnel), and in the final battle Simba flies through the air. It's good. "

"This is my absolute favourite Animated Disney movie of all time. Obviously, if you know anything about the story it is Hamlet, as played by animals. The voices are perfectly chosen, rich and acted so well. The songs are an absolute treat! Elton John gives his all with the music in this film and you feel it - down to your toes."

"I have, yes. The new movie has really amazing graphics and that's about the only good thing I have to say about it, haha. They completely butcher the personalities of Timon and Pumba and they ruin what was, in my opinion, one of the best villain songs of all time "Be Prepared". Personally I'd say stick with the original. "

"Excellent Disney animation movie: musical, comedy, drama, all three into one."
"There's alot of parts that I love in the movie but I think when Simba is grown up and is talking to Rafiki about if he should go back to the pride or not because he's scared to face the past and Rafiki hits Simba on the head and Simba asks why he did it and Rafiki says it doesn't matter it was in the past Simba said it still hurts and Rafiki said yes it can hurt but you can either run from it or learn from it and i think about that part alot "
