Christmas with the Campbells

"I love the idea of a satirical take on the 8 million romantic Christmas movies out there but if you’re going to do it, it’s gotta be funny. This falls short. But I do love the fact that there’s a lot of grandma’s out there that clicked on this movie because of the box and then get the crude attempts at humor (which I normally love). "

"Leave it to Vince Vaughn to take the well-worn tropes of your usual Hallmark Christmas movie and drag them through the sex-crazed innuendo of a h*rny teenager growing up in the 1990s. It plays out exactly how you’d think, complete with JoAnna Garcia’s Becky diverting both men’s eyes with her “tasty treats.” Jesse (Brittany Snow) gets to hear everyone air their dirty sex laundry; Duffy and Wendt are forced to say “purple drank,” “lean,” and “sizzurp” unironically in the same sequence - when not talking about their overactive libidos; and we’re reminded how some people will never understand that comedic trends evolve."

"I wanted to like this movie so much but it was over the top cheesy. I had high hopes as the cast looked incredible. But the acting, script, and constant innuendos were beyond cheesy. I think this story could have been really good if it wasn’t so cringy."

"The dialogue sounds like a middle school boy and a neglected old man (or woman) day sat in a room for one afternoon and wrote it together. Justin Long can't sell the outdoorsy type at all. Julia Duffy is the only good part of the movie. "
