"Before I write the rest of this review, I would like to acknowledge that I watched this in the English dub. I found it was easier to understand the complicated military and political systems if it was said to me rather than if I read it. Now that I have your attention, I would like to say this: This anime is amazing in that the animation quality is mind-blowing, the soundtrack is mesmerizing, and the themes will blow you away. The only reason I am rating this 4☆ is that the dialogue in the dub was poorly translated in the final battle sequence towards the end of Part 2. I also had an issue with how the writers handled the relationship between the villain of Part 2, as I didn't really understand what was going on with the relationship he had with the protagonist. I didn't consider the relationship critique as heavily in my review, as the confusion may have been resolved in the volumes that weren't adapted into the anime."

"This show might hit you in the feels. The world of 86 is bleak and unfair, but the people in it are always fighting for something more than themselves. Theres some heavy subject matter but it's given perspective and appropriate time to process. Not a bad watch ⭐⭐⭐⭐"
