"An interesting adaptation that isn't really anything like Louisa May Alcott's semi-autobiographical novel other than having characters somewhat like the March sisters - with similar interests and characteristics - and a couple other key characters from the book.
We have In-ju (Meg, the eldest), In-kyeong (Jo, the second eldest), In-hye (Amy, the youngest), Jong-ho (Laurie), and Hye-seok (great-aunt Josephine). If you're wondering about the second youngest, Beth, you'll have to watch to find out, but she is a character in this show. Like Meg, In-ju is considered beautiful, and she takes care of her sisters. Like Jo, In-kyeong is a stubborn, willful tomboy who assists her great aunt. Like Amy, In-hye is an artist and the coddled baby sister. Like Laurie, Jong-ho was childhood friends with In-kyeong (Jo). And like great-aunt Josephine, Hye-seok is a wealthy single woman who lives in a mansion and tends to be judgemental and cold but is soft-hearted. Other than a few small things, that's pretty much all this show has in common with the novel.
While the novel is a year in the lives of the little family, this show is a mystery thriller that includes embezzlement, a dirty politician, a murderous, psychotic wife, and a secret society that begins during the Vietnam war and centers around a hallucinogenic and beautiful rare orchid. Like I said, nothing like the book.
After watching the first episode, I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue watching because it looked too political and was a little hard to follow because of trying to read the subtitles, watch the show, and remember who was who, which can be hard given the hard-to-grasp Korean names of people, political agendas, and organizations. (That was a very long sentence. Too long?) But I looked to see if there were spoilers for the show to help me understand some things I wasn't clear on. I found this site:

"Oh the drama - murder, scandal, secret society, 'eat the rich', will they/ won't they?!, this show has it all.
I loved it. "
