Ashiya has spent the first seven days of high school stuck in the infirmary because of a youkai attaching itself to him. He ends up asking the owner of a small tea room called the "Mononokean" for help. This is a tale involving the very morose owner of Mononokean guiding the youkai that happened to wander into this world go to the next world.

"An absolutely amazing show! If you liked Kamisama kiss for any reason other than the romance, you'll love this one, it has the same feeling in the friendships, comfort and mischief. It's really funny and the moments with the youkai are really touching - not to mention all the little youkai are so cute 😭 I wish the show would come back with another season tho. The ending felt very rushed, the whole show felt like it would lead up to something more but when it came to the ending it was brief and vague."
