The 1978 version leaves a bit to be desired and is frankly over the top in parts. If you haven’t read the book, and found yourself invested in Hazel and the rest, please read the actual book. The book is written to perfection. It doesn’t need to be tweaked. This one is heavily tweaked. It’s not a love story."
