Additionally, it presented nuanced, irreverent perspectives of Booker T. Washington. There's a bit of that Fried Green Tomatoes, Diary of a Mad Black Woman sense of justice toward domestic abuse. As a fan of period pieces and historical dramas, I enjoyed this mini-series. Serious. Playful. A fabulously costumed quick binge."
