"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Eh, was this necessary? I honestly don't think so. Was it nice and kind if "cozy"? Sure. I think this was a good way for the characters to finally "relax" for a bit and just not worry about the constant threats they're facing. It didn't really bring much to the storyline itself though. Nesta still bothers me and I'm not sure if I'll like her book next. I'm happy for everyone, but they still each have their own problems but at least Mor is moving on! Feyre and Rhysand are cute and very supportive but why can't he mad at elain for the same reasons as he's mad at Nesta?! His answer of "Elain is elain" is not an answer, he's just treating her family very unfairly and that needs to be fixed. I wish Azriel and Elaine are together, but of course they aren't. Poor lucien, he doesn't have a home in which he feels equally welcome in, and stupid elain can't even say a word to him or a "Hi, how are you?". It doesn't mean that your automatically going to him, its called being nice. It looks like Nesta isn't the only sister who's selfishly idiotic. I think it runs in the family. Tamlin deserves what he gets, even if he's depressed. The whole scene with Feyre and Rhysand wasn't as bad as some people have said it to be. Again, it was pretty tame compared to other books by SJM. Am I excited for the next book? No, not really. Am I still going to read it? Yes, but probably not until next month."
"This was a fun novella! I know it’s sort of written to be an interlude between different character focuses within the series and that’s exactly what it felt like. I like the ACOTAR world so I’m happy to read any additional books SJM adds! This is a fun read and it adds to the character development with very little plot. Like all of the books in the series this far I feel like it concluded quite neatly while also leaving room for plots to progress in future books. This is not a must read by any means but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next book! I’ve heard great things. 1/5 spice level. No matter what anyone says the series up to now is NOT spicy. There are a handful of open door scenes in this series and lots of implied mentions of things but overall the spice is very tame. More emphasis on the romance for sure. Not complaining! I like the books the way they are. I’ve just been told they are very spicy and that just isn’t true. "
"You know, this was a quick read but it was a nice deviation from certain doom and looming war. It was a nice break to just get to know the inner circle, to hear their thoughts and feelings. I’m still sad we don’t get a deep dive into Az, but maybe that’s just the verification we need to know that his POV is coming? Overall it was an ok book, letting us know what’s coming next. "
