"I absolutely loved this book! It had me hooked from the very beginning! Enemies to lovers, secret identities, found family, slow burn and dual POV! This book was beautifully written and so mesmerizing! I loved how atmospheric and enchanting it was! I absolutely loved Roman and Iris as individuals and as a couple! 10/10 would recommend! I can hardly wait for book two!"
"I have seen so many recommendations for this book for people who enjoyed Fourth Wing so I was extremely excited to read it. I think I had my expectations set to high because I was underwhelmed. The book is slow at the beginning. Workplace rivals is also not a favourite trope of mine so that might have added to it. There wasn’t a lot of action in this book until the last 20% and I also didn’t fully feel attached to the love story. The best part of the book was the last 10% and then in leaves you on a major cliff hanger which I wish someone would have warned me about because I definitely would have waited to read until closer to the next book’s release date. Overall it was a good book but not nearly as entertaining as Fourth Wing in my opinion. This book was not spicy and felt YA (not sure if that is how it’s marketed or not). "
"At first I wasn’t going to pick up this book but I decided that I was going to try it out but I knew just reading the book I would get bored so I decided to listen to the book and I liked it a whole lot better then reading it.
I loved the romance between Iris and Roman😍
And I actually liked the book 📕"
"I read this book so quickly, totally getting lost in their relationship as it unfolds. However I would have liked more world building other than the few myth letters, hopefully there is more in the next one because I feel like I am lacking an overall why for the war and some other miscellaneous loose ends! "
"Overall, this book was great. The dynamics between the mc and love interest was chef’s kiss, but I was thrown off by their actions. The book takes place during a war, yet we don’t really feel the impact of it. There were scenes where the characters were on the frontline, but everything felt idealistic because while they were being attacked, they were acting lovely-dovely. I skimmed the last few chapters because the writing was progressively getting harder to bear…The ending was weird because…uhhh….just unexpected and very different from the rest of the book."
