Emily McIntire
From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Peter Pan. He wants revenge, but he wants her more... James has always had one agenda: destroy his enemy, Peter Michaels. When Peter's twenty-year-old daughter Wendy shows up in James's bar, he sees his way in. Seduce the girl and use her for his revenge. It's the perfect plan, until things in James's organization begin to crumble. Suddenly, he has to find the traitor in his midst, and his plan for revenge gets murkier as James starts to see Wendy as more than just a pawn in his game. Wendy has been cloistered away most of her life by her wealthy cold father, but a spontaneous night out with friends turns into an intense and addictive love affair with the dark and brooding James. As much as she knows James is dangerous, Wendy can't seem to shake her desire for him. But as their relationship grows more heated and she learns more about the world he moves in, she finds herself unsure if she's falling for the man known as James or the monster known as Hook.

"Bruh, the way that Hook constantly needed to picture Peter near him in order to finish or climax was hilarious. Like he straight up constantly fixated on him during sex with someone who apparently looked just like him. If that ain't the gayest stuff ever I don't know what is. It's supposed to be a straight relationship but the entire time he's having sex with Peter's daughter he's thinking of Peter and watching him have sex with them. What am I supposed to do with this? It was very vanilla in the sexual way like at one point he kidnaps her but he kidnaps her and treats her softly so???"
"2.25/5 ⭐️ I didn’t have high expectations and I’m happy about that. I’m pretty picky when it comes to dark romances and this wasn’t it for me. It’s was very surface level, predictable, and honestly made my eyes roll. When I heard it was a Peter Pan retelling I wasn’t sure what it would be like this was basically just using the characters names and a couple vague characteristics and telling a bland dark romance with it. Character development, tension, suspense, and overall depth was seriously lacking. I was told this was super spicy and yes there was spice but it was meh because the tension wasn’t there to make it exciting. This book reminded me of the Twisted series by Ana Huang so if you like those maybe give this a try because obviously this is a widely popular series and just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean others won’t! 2.5-3/5 on the spice scale. (3 feels high but there was a fair amount of scenes- the build up just made them fall flat for me). "
"This book really is something 😂😂 Like she met this dude at a bar… had sex with him like twice and then all the sudden is in love with him 😂 he kidnaps her and then she forgets about it like five seconds later when he lets her out and then she kills pretty much her whole family… then there’s a HEA It’s so random 😂"
"oof idk how I feel about this one. I think it was a liiitle darker than what I usually read so that was something I had to work around a bit. it was quite spicy which I enjoyed but… the romance… didn’t feel quite right to me. all in all it was a kind of “couldn’t put it down” kind of read in an interesting kind of way."
"I have mixed feelings about this book. It in no way shape or form depicts a healthy relationship. The main character seems to fall for the guy because he's pretty despite the fact that literal red flags pave the streets of the small town that they live in. It glorifies abusive relationships with the disclaimer that "i guess i have a messed up mind" literally pours from the main characters mouth to justify her actions. The plot is mildly entertaining when you can find it laced between graphic rough sex scenes. Honestly i might have second hand trauma just from reading it, i finished reading it because like a car accident, you can't look away."
