"This was a pretty decent sci-fi movie that pits humans against artificial intelligence. Although, they were pretty ambitious in world building, set designs, and special effects... there feels like there was something missing or just the missed opportunity to be something really great. I can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's the guilt I felt rooting for the AI as opposed to the human race. Either way, I feel like a bit of a snob saying that I was a little bit disappointed that it wasn't better, especially because I didn't have any expectations going in. 7.5/10"
"I noticed something reading the reviews prior to watching this. Everyone liked it but there was this undertone or something. I think it’s because while this is good to very good, we sci-fi geeks know it could’ve been great. We really want to reward original ideas but they keep tripping over themselves. The culprit here is pretty obvious. The direction, the verbal dialogue and the obviously too convenient ways they pushed the plot were amateurish. But, ignoring the numerous parallels beside human vs AI, the FX is on point and the story is great. It is what it is, a pretty good and enjoyable movie. I’ll take that all day. "
"3.75/5⭐️ I had seen previews for this when it first came out and thought it looked like a cool sci-fi flick. What I didn't realize is that it's basically a futuristic WAR movie. The US vs AI (and any nation that integrates AI). I felt that there were a lot of parallels to current events and how the US relates to other nations (particularly the military presence). I did enjoy the movie, but I wasn't able to immerse myself in the sci-fi "world" as much as I would have liked. I felt in some ways the comparison with past, present, and future warfare pulled me out of the fantasy and made it less enjoyable. 🤷♀️"
"I liked it! It is well done movie about hope and equality in a way. There is a moral of the story and it is a bit sad at parts, I actually cried at a couple of scenes so keep those tissue boxes close. Fantasy, superpower, greed and end of war all combined into one movie. It lacked some explanations for me, hense 4 stars but nonetheless it was pretty good. A must watch pg13 to understand the story fully 👌 "
"This one is pretty good, above average and worth watching. Has a nice story, got me lost near the end though. Good sci-fi atmosphere and good cast of characters, has this serious tone throughout the movie and seems like you have to pay attention to it. Overall good experience and I'd recommend to sci-fi buffs to watch at least once."
"I was really surprised by this film, not to mention really dug it even if certain commentary on AI may be understandably flawed. Without question the visuals and production values (especially set design) were the MVP of this film (I hope the film gets Oscar nominations for VFX and Production Design, and a win in the former category would be extremely well deserved). Strong performances as well, especially from John David Washington (who is proving to be remarkably good actor both project selection wise and acting wise). Highly recommended."
