It faces the dark topics head on, and it shows the hardships that William Styron faces with his own mental health. As the book addresses, there are few words that can describe the reality of depression. Styron’s description of the disease, in my opinion, was spot on. It opens your mind to the stigma that surrounds mental health, and it is a book that I would recommend to read.
