The story takes place at a certain middle school where several murder cases take place. Kobayashi, a boy who goes to this school, meets genius detective Akechi, who comes to the school to investigate. Kobayashi takes an interest in Akechi and, in spite of his friend Hashiba's worries, he volunteers to be Akechi's assistant.

"I got through all 11 episodes in 2 days, and was genuinely impressed by the wit and humor at times. The show is dark, and has heavy justice themes, and as someone who loves mystery having a mystery solved every episode felt almost disappointing. But for a short anime, it kept my attention and stayed focused. Not a bad little show, if you like crime dramas."
