"The film adaptation of the play of the same name as Jellicle cats in the are join together to find who will be chosen for a new Jellicle life, worth watching if you enjoy the songs and choreography! The scenes of each individual cat story should have been in the form of the Skimbleskanks, starting in the theater where the cat come together then to another set as the cats sing and choreograph."
"Honestly, I don’t fully understand the hate this movie received. It’s definitely not my favorite and didn’t do its all-star cast justice, but it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Yes, the animation and CGI is incredibly unsettling, but once you get past that, it’s a regular, boring movie. "
"I’m going to just save us all the time and energy by breaking this down into my top 5 questions (in no particular order): 1) who thought that Tom Hooper, the director of Les Miserables, was a good fit for this movie? Especially when the magic and fantastical elements are the whole point of the original show? 2) who thought that CATS—of all things—could be compressed into a narrative structure, when the entire point of Cats is built around NOT having a plot? 3) if you’re going to use THIS MUCH CG, why even bother and just animate the whole thing? 4) when are we going to start realizing that Rebel Wilson and/or James Corden aren’t a selling point in…anything? And 5) why didn’t someone try to stop them when they saw where this project was heading and assumed they’d get their money back?"
"It's really bad. It's so bad that it's comical. But if you like bad movies, with comical proportion issues, and weird slightly off-putting cgi cat people this movie is for you. Jennifer Hudson killed it, as expected but everything else was more like "wtf am I watching." It was a funny theater experience, but we definitely walked out on the ending number (we had to tap out). I gave it a like for the comedic discussions that this movie caused but I definitely would never watch it again."
