Lioness - Likewise Show Reviews
"I'm conflicted. I was initially really into the first couple of episodes, then things seemed to drag a little bit but it did pick up again leading into the final episode. But the final episode felt a little rushed and then ultimately, felt anticlimactic. But still it was a decent watch, I think I wanted to like it more than I actually did. 6.5/10"
"Season one was just ok. I remember saying the sum was better than the parts. Those parts are put together big time in a fantastic season 2. Follows the CIA from the top to the wet teams and the literal and figurative costs of fighting terrorism. I saw something online that said Landman is 100% inaccurate and made up, so I assume this is too. But it feels real. Sheridan is such a great writer. Zoe Saldana, also an EP, is perfect in this role and really gets to stretch out. Shes not afraid to show her sexy side and the husband is fine as frog hair too. Shoot, the entire amazing cast is hot. The budget must’ve been huge because the action is better than most movies. "

"Nothing special, story heard and seen many times before. Main character is quite out of control to the point I found annoying with some low class demeanour (perhaps that’s the role). A bit stretched when it pertains to how Saudi women live and dress abroad vs in Saudi Arabia (not accurate at all as women cannot be in swim suits in front of men guards that are also same men guards in Saudi), a few scenes quite unheard of in the culture, a man sleeping in a women’s wing even if he’s the father when there is a wing for men and women would never walk in his underwear knowing there are women guests. So much lack of knowledge into some cultures that they did not factor when they made this show. Good connection between corruption of governments, stock market and controlling of terrorism where it benefited the governments. Felt there were scenes missing, rushed. Definitely had high expectations given some quite good actors (may I also ask, what is wrong with Nicole Kidman?!) and it definitely disappointed. "
"Much as I don’t really like Taylor Sheridan as a person and how he seems to act(at least how it is presented), he writes darn good shows. I loved both seasons and binged them over holiday break. My only issue is why must the cliche of strong female solider being a lesbian and unable to keep herself from every female she works with linger in the show. Minor issue but my soapbox😬"
"Spoilers here:
Big Sheridan fan here. 1883 destroys me every time I watch it and I think the first season of Mayor of Kingstown is outstanding. Lioness is more cold like Sicario. The skinny is that the Lioness operation is a suicide mission. Infiltrate to take out a big target. I dig the government infighting and special ops missions. I’m not an expert in realism on the topics but I enjoyed this mission."
"I can’t believe I haven’t watched this show until now. It’s incredible, so good! I literally binged watch both seasons in 2 days. It’s giving a “Homeland” type of feel. Zoe Saldana kicks ass, in her role, and Nicole Kidman is great as well. I like seeing that actor who played “Doug Stamper in “House of Cards” back in a role like this too! Don’t walk, run to see this series! "
"It’s seems Taylor Sheridan is running it all lately! Every show I’ve jumped into lately has been outstanding. This is another gem of his! I started this last night and I’m almost done season 1. I thankfully jumped on board with 2 seasons done. I cannnnnnnNOT stop watching this. The story line is superb. The acting makes this whole show. Kidman isn’t seen too often. So she’s not her usual self. However, the 2 main actresses do not disappoint by any means. This series is GREAT! From the first 30 seconds onwards. As someone who hasn’t been able to get into anything. This?! THIS DUNNNN’ IT! Don’t hesitate. Lots of action, drama, feelings, etc., I do like how.. aside from all the action, these actors do have lives outside work, that they’ve incorporated into the show flawlessly. It’s great!"
"I am actually pretty impressed. The honesty about politics of the “ war on terror “ , money involved, the behavior of Americans overseas and despicable costs that rich people are willing to pay to keep just the right amount of disarray to benefit them, are rarely seen in mainstream tv. I am glad to see these things being portrayed. "
"Lioness follows Joe (Saldaña) as she balances her personal and professional life while serving in the CIA's war on terror. Inspired by a real US Military program, the Lioness Program, led by Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Kelly), recruits aggressive Marine Raider Cruz (De Oliveira) to operate undercover with Joe to prevent the next 9/11."

"Pretty decent boring at times tho"
"I. Am. Hooked! Lioness is the kind of show that consumes you, body and soul. I binge watched the entire season in one weekend, and I'm still reeling from the experience.
The characters are amazing! The story is a wild ride, full of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end.
But what really gets me is the show's attitude. It's fierce, it's fearless, and it's totally unapologetic. I love how it tackles tough topics like power, loyalty, and survival."
