Captain Marvel abandoned all of that and instead focused on an agenda, then plugged it into a movie-making formula. This made the movie feel cheap, lazy, & preachy. The creators clearly had a chip on their shoulder when they made this, and, justified or not, gave the public a "you better like it or else" vibe. This did no favors for the agenda or the film, doubly making it a horrendous failure."
