This book was so slow and hard to read for the first 70 % but it was on crack post that. Definitely worth pushing through

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️THIS BOOK DESERVES SO MUCH MORE HYPE!!!! The plot, superior characters, superior Romance and angst, superior ORION MY LEO KING <3 Every single character is breathe taking. This one takes the cake over her other books. I can’t wait for the sequel. I am absolutely in live with this book and the representation and the plot and literally every single character in it. PHOEBE IS WOW some of my fav quotes: “We have never been real.” “We were to me, you accused me of being a philanderer and suddenly I wanted to prove you wrong. You wanted daffodils at your wedding, and suddenly I wanted to be the one besides you at the late watching you joke them. I wanted it to be real.” ‘he would promise to wander the ends of the earth and find where the sky began if it meant she would keep her hand there, if it meant he could drown out the rest of his frantic fears by focusing on the sound of her voice. She was his guiding saint, the Polaris of his heart. “You can’t ask me not to love you by keeping me at arms length. I’ll love you anyways” 😭 I hope to see more of Oliver and Celia in the next book, but since JulietteRoma and BenMarshall will be back for book 2. I doubt it. I would love it regardless😭

𝒯𝓌𝒾𝓃 𝒞𝓇𝑜𝓌𝓃𝓈 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 I adore both Wren and Rose and their sisterhood. I have yet to pick a fav between the two I also very much enjoyed both Tor and Shen and their dynamics with the girls but Shen Lo is a STAR and the new love of my life. poor ansel, he was one funny guy. I really enjoyed the girls not wanting to give up the throne to the other but then deciding on what they did. Bamba, you better be okay. Book 2 here I come.

4.5 stars. this retelling of Romeo and Juliette set in 1920’s Shanghai between two rival gangs is one of my fav retelling, it’s the culture sensitivity and the small little ism that pop up even though you are reading fantasy some very real world topics come about and i am absolutely scared shitless to read book 2. I fear it might wreck me. Miss Juliette is what I aspire to be, just but brutual when needed. and Roma is who I really should be, choosing kindness and the high road as long as possible. loved Marshall and Roslyn too 😭
