"I haven’t seen The Marvels so I’m not up on the timeline. But as a stand alone origin series, over five episodes it went from meh to me bawling my eyes out in series finale. Disney productions are always going to have a head start against Prime and Hulu because of the budgets, but this was still really good. A lot due to Alaqua Cox’ rather dark performance. She’s got a cool back story too. Lastly, I’m not always successful but I try to stay away from handing out props for representation because it should now be the norm and art should be judged on merit. But this absolutely has both and is definitely the longest overdue. Plus it’s just awe inspiringly cool to see. "

"I loved it and can’t wait for more like this from Marvel. I can’t think of any complaints. I would like to say it’s too short, but really I didn’t find anything rushed so the short episode run didn’t affect me. Will love to see this character and her world in more stories moving forward. "

"Honestly like the 3rd best MCU show in my opinion. While I respect representation and the glamorous fight scenes, this feels more like a tip toe to more grounded and gritty MCU stories rather than a full on step. Vincent though, top notch and nobody can play Kingpin like he can."

"My only regret is that I can’t rate this atrocity a zero. First episode was a disjointed goofy layer cake of stupidity. At one point they had this girl playing a game with a bunch of guys. Like with sticks and a rock. Of course she’s the best at it like she (a 90 lbs female) can totally body check A WELL MUSCLED 200 LBS FULL GROWN BAD ASSED KILLER WARRIOR! Totally. Just stop. "

"Absolutely incredible. I love the super dark and gritty tone. Great sound design. Alaqua Cox knocked it out of the park. It blows my mind that Maya is her first ever role because she's so extremely talented. Maya Lopez is such a good character and I hope we see her again. I’m so excited to see more of the street level MCU."
