"A great anime where the hero finds a device that helps bring humans out of the oppression and put into the world!"

"Gurren Lagann is lighter, more humorous, and more fanservicey than a lot of mecha anime, but that doesn't mean it has no meat. MC spends 2 whole episodes in a near-catatonic depression, unable even to activate his mech, due to [redacted]. The whole 2nd arc is basically a metaphor for the fight between the sex impulse and the death impulse (not that I'm a psychoanalyst). Both arcs touch on topics of living under different kinds of tyranny. Overall, though, it's just good fun 9/10"

"AMAZING ANIME!! Gurren Lagann tackles oppression, struggle, and coming out on top of it all as a total chad flawlessly. A must watch for men particularly, because instead of the constant man-bashing seen across media, this anime actually celebrates masculine bravado. Gurren Lagann helped me become more confident and charismatic, which definitely carried over to my stage presence. If you can get past the obnoxious fan service I highly recommend this anime. ESPECIALLY to young men. #gurrenlagann "
