When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Chinese Army to defend the country from Huns, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. "So, I physically can’t finish this movie and I never want to. I’ve tried multiple times. The worst live action Disney movie so far and I hope that they never sink lower than this. It could have been so amazing but they turned one of their best and most realistic characters into a robotic, super-powered, emotionless, plot device. I’ve never seen such potential go to waste. Also some of the cinematography looked straight out of a Disney channel movie"

"This is what happens what you confuse a “strong” character with an invincible one. I can tell you more about Mulan’s character in the original movie in the first 15 MINUTES than I can about this Mulan in the first HOUR!!! Why?! Because the filmmakers cared more about their female character being perfect and invincible before they thought about how to make her good or interesting. The chi stuff adds basically nothing because they never bother defining what chi is or does—according to what’s shown, Mulan is basically a human Gameshark though—and any changes they make are either completely ignorable or add nothing. I don’t care if this is unpopular, this movie deserves the same dumpster as Catwoman, Electra, and Ultraviolet, and at least those movies had style or unintentional laughs. "

"First this wasn't meant to be a remake of the cartoon so don't compare. This is an excellent rendition on the Chinese legend of Mulan. Well done on all fronts. This movie easily stands on it's own merits."
