This one really seemed to play into that by making the characters believe it to be true and then flipping it on its head. It was so close to being a better book but it just was missing something that I can’t quite place. Maybe it was a little rushed or didn’t dig deep enough into the details."

I enjoyed reading a different interpretation of the story we grew up reading. I felt so sorry for the people who were affected for generations by outdated and misogynistic laws. Defiantly recommend."

It shows that you should stand up for what you believe in, love who you want, and just to be strong and fight against evil. But I would warn you if you love the Cinderella story and just love the fairytale I would not recommend this. It shows what it was really like to be a girl in that time period being abused and forced to marry young. Recently I broke up with my toxic ex boyfriend who emotionally abused me and gaslit me for 4 years. So reading this book about feminism and being strong without a man is sort of therapeutic for me. I know this is a queer romance but I saw the quotes about women empowerment more than I saw romance and that’s quite alright with me."
