"On paper, a movie based on an 80's arcade video game is a BAD idea... But somehow this works. The monsters are cool, and the action is wild, and the Rock isn't completely horrible in his role. This is one of those movies where you turn your brain off and enjoy the fun. 8/10"

"For it being based on the 1986 Rampage game, I would say that they didn't do too bad of a job, as it was a really good storyline to the film, being that they had to straight up come up with something on the fly. It made sense on how they did it. I would recommend watching it if you are into action movies. And I would say that it kinda has Godzilla vibes to it. "

"Rampage is a video game adaptation. Which while usually a bad sign, the original source material is so open and full of possibilities. It's literally the sky's the limit, and they really go out of their way to make some cool monsters. I wouldn't say this is a great five-star film but I would say it's a middle of the road type of thing. Really neat looking creatures. I love the wolf. Of course I love the wolf. That's so wild and out there. It's really good to watch when you want to see a bunch of monsters and some gore, but it's not exactly holding the most driving plot. There are many bad monster movie moments and phrases that made me cringe. In fact, the entire mention of CRISPR made me cringe so hard because I've heard it so many times now and recent media and also social media that I hate hearing anything with CRISPR involved."
