Strange the Dreamer

"Man oh man, I wanted to love this book alot, but I just didn't sadly. I've heard nothing but great reviews and bought it last year but it fell flat for me. The characters weren't bad but I felt like it took forever to reach the build up that honestly was kind of anticlimactic. The ending was good, but I don't think it was worth the 532 pages. Am I going to read part 2? Yes, because I like torturing myself. Hopefully it'll be better than this one. This was an okay read. "

"This book has ruined my tounge for all other taste. I am completely and utterly ruined my emotions are misplaced my mind reeling. I am sorrowful, content, dejected, cheerful, and mourning all at once. I finished this book and now I am unsure how to continue as I have come back from a dream. I loved the aspect of this so much more than I could have imagined. The plot was tantalizingly slow giving out breadcrumbs one at a time leading me down a path of destruction without my knowing. The opening chapter someone dies and having to come to terms with it in the end was unfair to me but I still loved and hated the journey. The dreams of Lazlo had an Alice in Wonderland like quality which I have always loved the nonsense of. The world building of course is always my favorite and I felt it constructing around me as I read. I could not get enough of this story I found myself speed reading to see what would happen next and laying awake to follow the characters through their own dreams. There is so much to this story and I don't want to give anything away just know if you start this you will be lost in it until the end. It was really enjoyable listening to music as I read. For most of it I listen to classical reading music but for the dream parts and the end I listened to Atmospheric gothic horror reading music believe me you'll thank me later.<br/><br/>The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around -Lazlo Strange"
