"I just gave up half way through. This trilogy started out very good and kept me interested but honestly nothings really happening at this point the story is dragging by. Probably could have been written in 2 books. It did have a little twist in book 2 that I enjoyed and made me start the next but I took a break and don't feel like there is a need to continue."
"My favorite character in this series is Cook and we get to know her so much more in this book. She is the embodiment of what trauma can do to a person and she is simultaneously strong and broken. I love this character and cried several times while her story unfolded in this book.

“Curse this world for what it does to the mothers—for what it does to the daughters. Curse it for making us strong through loss and pain. Our hearts torn from our chests again and again. Curse it for forcing us to endure.”"
"I honestly don’t think I have the words to express how amazing of a book this is (third in its series), but I’ll try. The plot, I think, is the best plot of the books I’ve read. Sabaa Tahir really worked some wonders in this book. The building of everything: characters, aspirations, relationships, battle, identity... is just wonderful. Amazing book... One of the best I’ve read. #young_adult_fiction #battle #awesomebook 🙌🙌"
"If this was the first book in the series, I would have put it down and never picked it up again. But I've already invested a lot of time in this series and I need to know how it ends.
Here's why I didn't like it. It has three points of view that don't transition between each other smoothly, which made it difficult to remember who had done what every time I started a new chapter. The three points of view didn't come together and make sense until the last 100 pages. With 458 pages all together, I can't tell you an accurate summary of any of it. A lot of it felt like filler words and unnecessary descriptions to make the word count go up so it would have the same numbers of pages as the books before this one.
The last 100 pages were at least enjoyable, but not sure it was worth it to suffer through over 300 pages to get to the good part."
