"Okay...okay, this book took me while to finish. It was good, loved the jokes. It did make my heart hammer against my chest multiple times at certain moments. I can see why people said they cried, I definitely didn't see it coming, it broke my heart! The ending was very heartwarming-except for the last chapter(I don't care for that person). I can't wait to buy&read Rule of Wolves and King of Scars!"
"Big fan of this series (duology? No, looks like there’s a third in the series to come!!)
Nonstop action and told from different perspectives of the key characters. A great continuation from A Six of Crows, picking up from a disastrous ending and launching a new scheme(s). “If the odds are against you, change the game.” Brilliant and intricate plot twists. "
"This duology was so good. I felt really connected to the characters. Kaz really draws you in with his backstory and Nina is one of the most endearing characters I have ever read. We get to spend some more time with Nikolai, Zoya and Genya from Shadow and Bone which I loved. The dialogue is witty and clever. The character arcs are beautiful. The suspense and twists were gripping and made it hard to put down. I legit cried. I will miss this crew of misfits. "
"I liked this better than the first. 4/5 I wish it would have had more about some of the relationships, but they tied up nicely since that wasn't the main part of the story. "
